With one year to go in George W. Bush’s presidency, the national Democrats are on the verge of the same miscalculation that they made about his father after his defeat in Election 1992. Instead of doing the hard work to hold the Bushes accountable, the Democrats are “leaving it to the historians.”
Heath Ledger RIP I have been a big fan of Heath Ledger's work. I respected him because even though not ever project he was involved with was a success, he generally chose some good scripts. Even Ledger's lighter projects like A Knight's Tale are a fun watch. One of the things I regretted about being at The Lords of Dogtown world premiere party was not meeting him.
Quick note: Since I brought up The Lords of Dogtown, Stacy Peralta, the scriptwriter for the film, is directing a new doc, Made in America, on the gang war between the Crips and the Blood in South LA. Peralta is not only a great filmmaker but I met him once and he's a down-to-earth person.
Blast from the Past: Sean Hannity on Voter Disenfranchisement I was flipping through stations and heard Sean Hannity discuss the lawsuit intended to block Democratic Party caucus site on the Las Vegas strip. Hannity was accusing the Clintons of disenfranchising voters. Here's a transcript of Hannity and me discussing voter disenfranchisement in Florida during the 2000 election.
