The GOP's Messianic Double StandardThe GOP establishment is trying to sink the candidacy of Republican congressional candidate Tim D'Annunzio, who is a run-off for the GOP nomination in North Carolina's 8th congressional district. Among other things, Republicans are concerned that D'Annunzio, who once claimed to be the Messiah, would be a weak candidate in the general election.
The GOP has never has a problem
with Messianic megalomaniacs like Sun Myung Moon. Of course, D'Annunzio doesn't have
billions of dollars of stolen money to
dump into right-wing causes.

this hilariously scary article, "15 Awful Examples of Christian Propaganda" that has a link to
an interesting article on 1970's Christian comics publisher Al Hartley (I didn't know he was the son of right-wing congressman Fred Hartley so-sponsor of the notorious anti-union Taft-Hartley Act).

Must ReadTalk to Action on Columbus, Ohio-area preacher Rod Parsley.
Having lived in Columbus, I'm familiar with Parsley and his nutty theocratic views. I once knew a woman who met Parsley and said that when she shook hands with him, a sense of intense dread overcame her entire being.
