What Is It Worth Now?
I saw Stalag 17 last night. I love that film. Not to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen this Billy Wilder classic about the goings-on in a World War II Nazi prisoner of war camp, but when William Holden speculated that the wealthy family of the soldier he was helping to escape would probably give him $10,000. I wondered how much that would be in today's money. So I went to this web site and found that $10,000 in the early 1940's was worth about $102,000 in today's money.
