Didja see on the Drudge Report that supposed Democratic flyer with George W. Bush's head superimposed on the body of a special-needs child at a Special Olympics? Turns out it was a Rove-esque Republican dirty trick (by the way, the Atlantic Monthly article on Rove is now available online--read it). Also, read Nick Confessore's take.
So far, no retraction from Drudge--no surprise there (BTW, go to the sidebar and read my vain attempts to reason with Drudge about journalistic integrity). Lou Sheldon's Traditional Values Coalition still has a press release on their web site wrongly blaming Tennessee State Representative Craig Fitzhugh for distributing the flyer. Let's see if Sheldon and the TVC include righting wrongs and making amends in their list of traditional values. Write Louis Sheldon at email@example.com and request that he retract the press release and make an apology.
