Hidden Allusion in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy?
I saw The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy last night; I didn't read the book so I have no basis for judging the adaptation but I did like the film. Of course I wasn't the only person to detect a dig against George W. Bush when Zaphod Beeblebrox (played masterfully by Sam Rockwell) made the following quip: "You can't be president with a whole brain."
However, I noticed another line in the film that reminded me of Sun Myung Moon's sacred cumrag; Humma Kavula (played by John Malkovich) enthralls a religious congregation with the following exhortation: "Send the handkerchief so that it can wipe us clean!"
