Crashing the Superman Returns Premiere After-Party Last Wednesday Night!!!
This is a photo from the party of me and my friend pointing at Superman (Kodak had a couple booths to provide souvenirs for the event). Our identities are obscured to avoid recognition by security.
It was the place to be! Security was tight but I was able to not only get myself in but a female partner-in-crime--see picture. I had a great time--Warner Brothers spared no expense. They had one of those turbines that lift you into the air--I guess skydivers use this to practice. The food was great (catering was by Along Came Mary). They had a martini bar in which a block of ice contained a tube in which the martinis were mixed.
I caught a glimpse of Brandon Routh. I spoke with his relatives from Iowa for a few minutes. I also saw Kate Bosworth (I also saw her when I crashed The Blue Crush premiere after-party); the guy I was talking with at the time told me that she was with Orlando Bloom. Kevin Spacey would have probably appreciated the fact that I snuck in; from what I understand, Spacey, as a young actor, would sneak onto sets and check out the scene. I saw a guy who looked like Steven Spielberg--but I don't think it was him. My friend spoke briefly with James Marsden. The only disappointment was that I didn't see Eva Marie Saint (I wanted to tell her I loved North by Northwest and On The Waterfront).
Look at what some sap paid to see the film and attend the party. He should have known me!
How Did I Do It?
Getting in wasn't the hard part (and I not telling you how I did it but it took some serious cajones--not a difficult task for me). The hard part was getting to work the next day in San Diego at 8:00 AM. My secret: Only have a couple drinks and have them mixed with Red Bull and to eat lightly--there was some tasty pasta dishes.
Quick notes: Outside the premiere, I met controversial new age guru John-Roger who was a guest of controversial producer Jon Peters. . . I'm still not sure if it was really Orlando Bloom I saw at the party. I've never seen him in anything and I depended on what someone told me there. . . This was probably the most fun I had at a premiere party I crashed since I went to the party for the premiere of xXx. . . This was the first crash for my friend--she was very excited.
